The du’a Jibril (‘alayhis salam) taught to Nabi Yusuf (‘alayhis salam)

Question

Kindly inform me regarding the authenticity of the du’a that Jibril (‘alayhis salam) taught to Nabi Yusuf (‘alayhis salam):

Answer

Imam Abu Bakr ibn Abid Dunya (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration with a weak chain.

(Al Faraju Ba’dash Shiddah: 40)

The complete du’a that Jibril (‘alayhis salam) taught Nabi Yusuf (‘alayhis salam) is as follows:

Translation: O Allah! O Present Being who is not absent, O Near One who is not distant, O Dominant One who is not overpowered! Grant me relief and a way out from my issue and sustain me from [sources] I did not expect.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
