Another narration regarding Shaytan weeping when man prostrates

Question

What is the source of this Hadith?

‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhu) said:

“Indeed, when Shaytan sees the son of Adam prostrating, he shouts: ‘Woe to him, the son of Adam was commanded to prostrate and he obeyed, and for him will be Jannah.’

Answer

This narration appears in Kitabuz Zuhd of Imam ‘Abdullah ibnul Mubarak and Al Mu’jamul Kabir.

Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhu) said: “When Shaytan sees man prostrating, he screams out, ‘Woe to him! Woe to Shaytan. Allah ordered man to prostrate. He obeyed and will get Jannah. He ordered me to prostrate, I disobeyed and will be in the fire.’”

(Kitabuz Zuhd war Raqaiq: 1286 and Al Mu’jamul Kabir, Hadith: 9463. Also see: Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 2 pg. 284)

Imam Muslim (rahimahullah) has recorded a similar narration as a Hadith of Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). See here
