Meaning of part of a Hadith regarding the character of a Muslim towards another Muslim

What is the translation of the words ‘لا يسلمه’ in the following Hadith?

Answer

This Hadith is recorded in Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim on the authority of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (radiyallahu ‘anhuma).

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 2442 and Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 2580)

‘لا يسلمه’ means he does not surrender him/hand him over. i.e. He does not surrender him to the enemy nor does he abandon him with those who will harm him, rather he assists and defends him.

(Fathul Bari, Hadith: 2442)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
