Hadiths in Fiqh books

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

Are the Hadith narrations in the Hidayah Fiqh manual authentic?

Answer

As a rule one should only quote Hadiths from reliable Hadith books.

Just as one is not allowed to cite a Fiqh ruling (fatwa) from a Hadith book, or Hadith commentary. Similarly we should avoid copying Hadiths from Fiqh books.

Notes:

1. The layman should avoid reading Hadith books of a high academic nature, even if they are reliable books, as this leads to unnecessary confusion. See here for one such example.

2. A Hadith expert will obviously be equipped enough to quote from any source after verification.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best,
