The etiquette of seeking permission before entering

What is the authenticity of this?

Sayyiduna Kaladah ibn Hambal (radiyallahu ‘anhu) said:

“I entered upon Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) without greeting or seeking permission. He said, ‘Go back and say: ‘As salamu ‘alaykum, may I come in?’”

Answer

Imams Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud (rahimahumallah) have recorded this Hadith. Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has declared the Hadith sound (hasan)

(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 2710, Sunan Abi Dawud, Hadith: 5133)
