The virtue of abundant sajdah (prostration)

Is the following Hadith authentic?

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam):

“There is no person who prostrates for the sake of Allah, except that Allah [due to this prostration] records a good deed for him, erases a bad deed and raises him in rank by a degree. Therefore, prostrate [by offering Salah] abundantly”

Answer

Imam Ibn Majah (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna ‘Ubadah ibn Samit (radiyallahu ‘anhu)

(Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 1424. Also see Hadith: 1423 and Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 388-389)

‘Allamah Mundhiri (rahimahullah) has declared the chain authentic (sahih).

(Targhib, vol. 1 pg. 248/249. Also see: Zawaid Ibn Majah, Hadith: 470)

Imam Muslim (rahimahullah) has recorded the following version:

Sayyiduna Thawban (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “You should prostrate to Allah in abundance, for certainly each time you prostrate to Allah, He raises your rank by a degree and erases a bad deed by virtue of the sajdah.”

(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 488)
