Reciting ‘Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘alamin hamday yuwafi ni’amahu’ thrice

What is the reference and virtue for reciting this du’a? I have heard that you should recite it three times in the morning and three times in the evening.

Alhamdulillahirabbil ‘alamin, Hamdan yuwafi ni’amahu wa yukafi u mazidah

Answer

‘Allamah Nawawi (rahimahullah) has cited this narration.

(Al Adhkar, pg. 208, Darul Minhaj edition)

However, Shaykh ‘Abdul Fattah Abu Ghuddah (rahimahullah) has declared the Hadith very weak. He further states that the words of this du’a are incorrect. See here.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
