Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) would eat dates before proceeding for ‘Eid Salah

Is this Hadith authentic?

“On the Day of ‘Eidul Fitr, Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) would not go out until he had eaten some dates.” Another version states that he would eat an odd number of dates.

Answer

Imam Bukhari (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Anas (radiyallahu ‘anhu). The Hadith is therefore authentic.
