Hadiths on obedience of the Muslim Leader

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

Please quote verses from Quran and Hadiths that say we should obey the Ulul Amr (The Muslim ruler)

Answer

Allah Ta’ala says in Quran:

O You who believe, obey Allah, His Messenger and the Ulul Amr (those in charge of rule over you)
(Surah Nisa, verse: 59)

Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) said:
‘Whoever obeys the ruler, has obeyed me. Whoever disobeys the ruler has disobeyed me.’

(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 4724)

Note: The obedience of the Muslim leader only applies to matters that are permissible in Islam. If they demand actions that are sinful, one is excused from their obedience.

(Tafsir Ibn kathir, Surah Nisa, verse: 59 and Sharhun Nawawi, Hadith: 4731)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best,
