The virtue of being chaste and treating one’s Parents kindly

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

Please provide the reference for the following narration:

“Be chaste, your spouse will remain chaste, treat your parents kindly, your children will treat you kindly.”

This Hadith is reported by numerous Sahabah (radiyallahu’anhum) via different chains with varied wordings, and is recorded by the following Imams:
1. Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) on the authority of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (radiyallahu’anhuma)

2. Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) on the authority of Sayyidatuna ‘Aishah (radiyallahu’anha)

3. Imam Hakim (rahimahullah) on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu’anhu)

4. Daylami (rahimahullah) on the authority of Sayyiduna ‘Ali (radiyallahu’anhu)
and others.

Many of the chains are weak, however the narration of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (radiyallahu’anhuma) mentioned first in the list above is classified as sound (hasan) by ‘Allamah Mundhiri (rahimahullah) and others including Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahullah).
The words of this authentic version are as follows;

‘Be kind to your parents, your children will be kind to you. Remain chaste and your wives will be the same.’
