It is constantly heard in speeches the story of Nabi Musa (‘alayhis salam) where he has a sickness and is told by Allah to use the leaves of a tree and subsequently gets cured. Then later gets a similar sickness and goes back to those leaves without asking Allah and doesn’t find a cure. What is the veracity of this story?
Answer
I haven’t seen any original source for this incident.
It seems to be from the historical narrations (Israely) which may be quoted with caution, only if it doesn’t contradict our shari’ah.
In this case, the contents of the incident actually contradicts the image of a Nabi, especially a senior Nabi like Musa (‘alayhis salam).
One should refrain from quoting it.
And Allah Ta’ala Knows best,
