Another version of the Hadith regarding ‘Oppressive leaders and caution against assisting them’

Is this narration authentic?

Answer

Yes, this Hadith is authentic.

Imam Nasai (rahimahullah) has recorded this version of the Hadith.

(Sunan Nasai; Al Mujtaba, Hadith: 4207)

Imams Tirmidhi and Ibn Hibban (rahimahumallah) have recorded the Hadith with slight variation in the wording and have authenticated the Hadith. See here.

Translation

Sayyiduna Ka’b ibn ‘Ujrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports, Once Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) came out to us and there were nine of us. He said: “Certainly, [tyrannical] rulers will come after me, whoever affirms their lies and supports their oppression is not from me and I am not from him, he will not drink from the pond [of Kawthar]. As for those who do not affirm their lies and do not support their oppression then he is from me and I am from him and he will drink from the pond [of Kawthar].”

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
