Sufyan Thawri (rahimahullah) on disliking one’s companion who innovates in Islam

Kindly mention the Arabic words and reference for this narration?

It is reported that Sufyan Thawri (rahimahullah) said:

“If you loved a man for Allah and then he innovates in Islam and as a result of that innovation you don’t hate him for it then you never truly loved him for Allah.”

Answer

Imam Abu Nu’aym (rahimahullah) has recorded this statement of Sufyan Thawri (rahimahullah).

Arabic text

إذا أحببت الرجل في الله ثم أحدث حدثا في الإسلام فلم تبغضه عليه فلم تحبه في الله

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
