Pronunciation of a word in the last Hadith of Mishkatul Masabih

With regard to the last Hadith of Mishkatul Masabih, is the word recited as one تَتِمُّوْنَ [with a fathah on the taa] or تُتِمُّوْنَ [dammah on the taa]?

Answer

The correct way is with a dammah on the taa, i.e. تُتِمُّونَ.

(Refer: Mirqatul Mafatih, Hadith: 6294 and Tuhfatul Ahwadhi, Hadith: 3001)

The full Hadith for the benefit of the readers is as follows:

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said regarding the Verse: ‘You are the best nation raised [for the benefit] of mankind [Surah Aalu ‘Imran, Verse: 110], You complete seventy nations, you are the best of them and most noble in the sight of Allah Ta’ala.’

(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 3001)
