Can we change the tense etc of the Masnun du’as?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

Are we allowed to change the words of the masnun du’as to suit the appropriate tense or gender?

Like if the du’a is with the male tense, can a female change it when she recites it?

And can the imam change the singular into plural to include the congregation?

Answer

One who is well acquainted with the Arabic language may change the words of the masnun du’as to suite the gender, tense etc. without altering the general meaning of the du’a.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best,
