How authentic is this Hadith?
Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“When a girl is born, Allah Ta’ala sends His angels to that house. They come to the dwellers of the house and pray that peace may be upon them. The angels then cover the newly born girl with their wings and caress the head of the baby saying ‘A weak child from a weak female, whoever will bear the responsibility of cherishing her will go on having the blessing of Allah Ta’ala until the Day of Qiyamah.”
Answer
Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna Nubayt ibn Sharit (radiyallahu ‘anhu).
(Al Mu’jamus Saghir, Hadith: 70)
However, the chain consists of narrator who has reported fabrications from his father, from his grandfather ( عن ابيه عن جده). The Hadith in question is reported with this very chain and is therefore unreliable.
