Do not ask for a woman in marriage when another Muslim has already done so.”
Answer
This Hadith is recorded in Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 5142.
Commentary
The general explanation of this Hadith, is that one is being prohibited from proposing to a woman if he is aware of another pending proposal to which the woman is already inclined.
(Fathul Bari, Hadith: 5142)
However due to the different scenarios and their conflicting rulings, you should refer to a reliable mufti for an actual fatwa on the issue.
