Giving charity to relatives who sever ties and harbour hatred

أفضل الصَّدقة الصَّدقة على ذي الرَّحم الكاشح

Answer

Imam Ibn Khuzaymah, Imam Tabarani and Imam Hakim (rahimahumullah) have recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyidah Ummu Kulthum bint ‘Uqbah (radiyallahu ‘anha).

The Hadith has been declared authentic by Imam Ibn Khuzaymah and Imam Hakim. Hafiz Dhahabi concurs with Imam Hakim.

Translation

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “The best charity is charity given to relatives who cut off ties with you and harbours enmity”

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
