‘Do not desire to meet the enemy, ask Allah for protection’

Is there a narration wherein Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, “Do not desire to meet the enemy but ask Allah for protection?”

Answer:

Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim (rahimahumallah) have recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 3026 and Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1742)
