Be moderate in seeking sustenance, do not overexert yourself

Is this Hadith authentic?

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Be moderate in seeking worldly things for everyone will be facilitated for which he was created [i.e. each person will only receive what is predestined for him]”

Answer

Imam Ibn Majah (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Humayd As Sa’idi (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 2142)

Imam Hakim (rahimahullah) has declared the Hadith authentic and ‘Allamah Dhahabi (rahimahullah) has concurred.

(Mustadrak Hakim, vol. 2 pg. 3. Also see: Targhib, vol. 2 pg. 534 and Faydul Qadir, Hadith: 191)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
