Is this a Hadith?
“A pious wife is such a wonderful aid for one’s Din”
Answer
‘Allamah Tajud Din Subki and ‘Allamah ‘Iraqi (rahimahumallah) have stated that they have not come across a chain for this narration. The narration should therefore not be quoted until it can be verified.
(Tabaqatush Shafi’iyyah Al Kubra, vol. 6 pg. 360 and Al Mughni ‘An Hamlil Asfar, Hadith: 3731)
‘Allamah ‘Iraqi (rahimahullah) then cites the following narration [which should be quoted instead]:
Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) reports that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“The world is [to take benefit from], and the best object of benefit is a pious woman”
(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1467)
