What is the authenticity of this Hadith?
Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“Certainly gold and silver coins destroyed those before you and they will also be a cause of your ruin”
Answer
Imam Ibn Hibban and Imam Tabarani (rahimahumallah) have recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Musa Al Ash’ari (radiyallahu ‘anhu).
Imam Ibn Hibban has declared the Hadith authentic and Hafiz Haythami (rahimahullah) has declared the chain sound (hasan).
