Salaah while Sitting

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Mahmoodiyah

Question:

Q1-Why is it permissible for a person to pray Salaat sitting who is able to perform Qiyaam and Ruku but is unable to perform Sajdah  because Qiyaam and Ruku is Fardh?

Answer:

It is permissible for a person to perform Salaah sitting who is able to perform Qiyaam and Ruku’ but is unable to perform Sajdah.  Qiyaam is an act leading to Sajdah and if Sajdah cannot be performed then Qiyaam will not remain Waajib.  (Ad-Durrul Mukhtaar, Vol. 1, Page 560-561)
