Charity extinguishes the heat of the grave

Answered according to Hanafi Fiqh by

What is the status of this Hadith and can it be quoted?

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “Charity extinguishes the heat of the grave”

Imam Tabarani (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna ‘Uqbah ibn ‘Amir (radiyallahu ‘anhu) with two weak chains.

(Al Mu’jamul Kabir, Hadith: 787 and 788, vol. 17, Shu’abul Iman, Hadith: 3076)

The narration is suitable to quote as is the case with narrations of this nature.
