Goats and Sheep as a source of Barakah?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

Please advise if the following Hadith relating to goats are authentic:

1. Sayyiduna Khalid (radiyallahu ‘anhu) narrates that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said,

“If three goats remain in the home of a person, Angels supplicate throughout the night until dawn to Allah Ta’ala, to shower His mercy upon the person.”

2. Sayyiduna Ali (radiyallahu ‘anhu) narrates that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said,

“A goat in a home is a source of one blessing, two goats are two blessings and three are three blessings.”

Answer

The first Hadith is recorded by Imam Ibn Sa’d (rahimahullah) with a very weak chain.

(Tabaqat Ibn Sa’d, vol.1 pg.496)

The second Hadith is recorded by Imam Bukhari (rahimahullah) in his Al-Adabul Mufrad, Hadith: 585 with a weak chain that is supported by the following authentic narration:

Sayyidatuna Ummu Hani (radiyallahu’anha) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) told her:

‘Keep sheep/goats, for there is certainly barakah (blessings) in them.’

(Sunan  Ibn Majah, Hadith: 1304)

‘Allamah Busiri (rahimahullah) has declared the chain as authentic (sahih).

(Misbahuz Zujajah, Hadith: 814. Also see Faydul Qadir, Hadith: 103)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best,
