Allah Ta’ala had forgiven a prostitute because of her kindness to a dog.
Is this authentic?
Answer:
Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim (rahimahumallah) have recorded this narration. The narration is therefore authentic.
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“A dog was going around a well, about to die of thirst when an immoral/loose woman from the Banu Israil saw it. She removed her sock, [filled water in it] and gave it to the dog. She was forgiven due to that”
(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 3321, 3467 and Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 2245 with slight variation in the wording)
And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
