Caution against becoming impatient in du’a

Is this a Hadith?

‘A person’s du’a will not be accepted when he says I have made du’a yet I do not see my du’a being answered’

Answer

This is a Hadith recorded by Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim (rahimahumallah) on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu). The full narration is as follows:

“A person’s du’a will be answered as long as he does not become impatient, saying, ‘I have made du’a but my du’a has not been answered”

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 6340 and Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 2735)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
