What is the authenticity of the following?
“When zina (adultery) and interest will become rife in a community then they have drawn the wrath of Allah”
Answer:
Imam Ibn Hibban and Imam Hakim (rahimahumallah) have recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhu).
(Sahih Ibn Hibban; Al Ihsan, Hadith: 4410 and Mustadrak Hakim, vol. 2 pg. 37)
Imam Ibn Hibban and Imam Hakim have declared the Hadith authentic. Hafiz Dhahabi concurs.
