A wonderful du’a to recite before sleeping

Is this a Masnun du’a to recite before sleeping?

“All praise is due to Allah who has sufficed me, has protected me, fed me, given me drink, who has been favorable to me and who has given me lavishly. All praise is due to Allah in every circumstance. O Allah, Rabb and Sovereign of all things, I seek refuge in You from Jahannam”

Answer

Yes, this is a Masnun du’a reported on the authority of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) who says that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) would recite this du’a when retiring to bed.

(Refer: Sunan Abi Dawud, Hadith: 5019. Declared authentic by Imam Ibn Hibban; Al Ihsan, Hadith: 5538)

The Arabic text of the du’a is as follows:

الحمد لله الذي كفاني وآواني، وأطعمني وسقاني، والذي مَنَّ علي فأفضل، والذي أعطاني فأجزل، الحمد لله على كل حال اللهم رب كل شيء ومليكه وإله كل شيء، أعوذ بك من النار

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
