Does the promise of ‘protection from Jahannam’ mean we can continue sinning?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

Is there a Hadith that says about praying forty salahs at Masjid Nabawi?

If it is reliable would that mean you are allowed to sin as you are already saved from punishment? So how could you be punished once you are saved from punishment?

Answer

This Hadith is authentic. See here for the full text and authentication.

The Hadith is discussing safety from being punished for the sins committed prior to this deed.

Your question is concerning the sins that one wishes to commit afterwards. Hence, it has no relevance to the Hadith in question.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
