The camels of Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam)

What were the names of the camels of Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam)?

Answer

‘Allamah ibn Qayyim Al Jawziyyah (rahimahullah) has enlisted the following known names of the camels of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam):

  1. Al Qaswa
  2. Al ‘Adba
  3. Al Jad’a

(Zadul Ma’ad, vol. 1 pg. 129. Also see: Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 2871-2872 and Muntahas Sul, vol. 1 pg. 611)

Note: There exists difference of opinion regarding these names; where they different camels or one camel with different names.

(Refer: Zadul Ma’ad and Fathul Bari, Hadith: 2871-2872)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
