Abundant rewards for salutations on Nabi (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam)

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

Is the following Hadith reliable ?

It has been reported by Sayyiduna ibn Abbas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said,

“The reward of the person who recites the following durud, will be the cause of much work (of writing) for seventy angels for one thousand days.”

Those words are:

jazal lahu ‘ana Muhammadan (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) ma huwa ahluhu

Answer

This Hadith is recorded in Al-Mu’jamul Kabir, (Hadith: 11509) and several other Hadith books with a weak chain, but is still suitable for practice.

See Targhib, vol. 2 pg. 504, Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 10 pg. 163 and Al-Qawlul Badi’, pg. 116.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
