What is the status of the Hadith wherein Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) gave the glad tidings of the conquest of Constantinople?
Answer:
Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) is reported to have said:
“Soon Constantinople will be defeated, how wonderful will be the leader and the army (that conquers Constantinople).”
(Mustadrak Hakim, vol. 4 pg. 422 and Musnad Ahmad, vol. 4 pg. 335)
Imam Hakim (rahimahullah) has declared the Hadith authentic and Hafiz Dhahabi (rahimahullah) concurs. Also see Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 6 pg 218
