I am a muslim from Bangladesh. I am very anaxious for several days about a matter. I reasearched through internet about star symbol or pentagram symbol. It is used by devil worshipper and pagan people now. Star or pentagram is a very iconic symbol. Many Islamic building like Mosque is also decorated by star symbol we know. We see this symbol in many nation’s flag. micro soft windows use this symbol in favourite folder icon. computer language has asterk symbol which is similar to star symbol. So what should we do in this case as a Muslim? If we see something decorated with star symbol can we use it?

Wa ʿAlaykum Salām Wa Raḥmatullāh wa barakātuhu,
If anything is decorated with a star symbol that can clearly be defined and recognized as a symbol directly associated with other religious groups and irreligious people, or people of sin and vice, then the usage of such an item should be avoided.
However, the star symbol which is an eight-pointed star is generally associated with Muslims and is found on, or inside, Masjid property; hence, there is no problem with such.
Similarly, there is no problem with the asterisk sign (*) found on computers and mobile devices since it is not associated with any other religious group and so forth. It is a five-pointed star, and even though its name may have originated from ancient Greek, it currently has no association to it.
