Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Fatwaa.com

Assalamu alaikum
Do we have to make up missed Salah which we abandoned intentionally without any Valid reasons like Sleep , Forgetfulness , according to Hanbali fiqh ?
I have heard that in Hanbali fiqh , We don’t have to make up Missed Salah which we left out Intentionally . Is that right position within Hanbali fiqh ?
Please answer according to Hanbali school of thought .

Answer

Wa’alaykum as Salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

Yes, it is compulsory to make up for prayers missed according to Hambalies.

In fact, the Hambali Madhab is more strict, since they stipulate that you need to make up for the prayers immediately.

Some people assumed that because a person who intentionally misses prayer becomes a Kaafir according to the Hambali Madhab, once he accepts Islam again he does not have to make up for those prayers. However, even those who said that the person will become a Kaafir, they too stipulated that this person must make up for those prayers after accepting Islam again.
