Limits of parents rights

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Fatwaa.com

My parents have not allowed me to use websites that can be very beneficial to me, and have been in the past, because they fear extremists will make me an extremist, or that athiest will cause me to apostate, when those websites made me more firm in my faith, or that speaking to people online is dangerous. Am I allowed to disobey them and continue benefiting from these websites?

Answer

Wa’alaykum as Salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

You may use the sites, but you should not speak to any extremist or athiest.
