Eid Salaah and Qurbani for a traveller.

Answered according to Hanafi Fiqh by DarulUloomTT.net

Q. During the week of Eid ul Adha I will be in Miami and flying to Mexico City. What is my position regarding Eid Salaah and my Qurbani? I would love to perform my Eid salaah but I don’t know the fatwa. Secondly will it be permissible for me to fast in the ten days of Zul Hijjah whilst I am traveling abroad?

A. During the days of Eid-ul Adha, you will be a Musafir (a traveller) and as such, both the Qurbani as well as the Eid Salaah will not be essential upon you. So, if both are missed, then there will be no harm or any act of wrongdoing on your part.

It will be permissible to fast during the first 9 days of Dhul Hijja while you are a traveller. However, this is also not essential upon you, seeing that you are on a journey. If you observe the fast, you will receive its blessing. You must note that fasting on the 10th of Dhul Hijja will not be permissible since it is the day of Eid.

And Allah knows best.
