Is it wrong for a Muslim woman to have a non Muslim friend (male) to speak to and give advise to certain problems that may be affecting her life?
Answer:
Assalaamu Alaikum,
It is wrong in Islam for a Muslim woman to have a male friend (Muslim or non Muslim) for the reason (which you have mentioned). There is no prohibition for her to consult scholars in matters of religion or getting guidelines from them. However, when it is a matter of having a friend, then this should only be with a female and not a male.
