Are Rolex watches haram for Muslims as they are made of gold?

Answer:
Abu Musa al Ash’ari (may Allāh be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet of (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said “Wearing of silk and gold has been made unlawful for males and lawful for the females of my Ummah.” [1]
Since the Rolex watches are made with real gold it will be impermissible for men to wear them. It is permissible for women to wear them but they should not wear them to show off.
