Are games that include using dices forbidden?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer

It is narrated by Saaiduna Abu Musa Alashari Radiallahu Anhu that the Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam said, “He who plays with dice has disobeyed Allah and His Messenger Salallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam. (Mustadrak Hakim p.50 v.1

Saaiduna Abdullah Bin Amr Bin Aaas Radiallahu Anhu has said “Whoever plays with dice in order to gamble is similar to that person who eats pork, and he who plays with dice without gambling is like the person who applies pig fat to his body”. (Musannaf Abdur Razzaq p.468 v.10)

Saaiduna Abu Hurairah Radiallahu Anhu has said “Every game which involves the usage of dice is gambling and is not permissible”. (Imam Baihaqi in his Shuabul Imaan p.466 v.8)

There are also some narrations from some of the Tab’iin like Ataa, Tawoos, Muhammad Ibn Sirin and Imam Mujaahid who considered it impermissible for children to play with dices.
