Question:

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah.

There are many apps are in the market asking people to install these apps and watch the videos in order to earn money through them. The clips can be any from laughter to comedy to movie clips etc.

Is it allowed according to Shariah?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

As the videos in the applications you have referred to in your question usually consist of unlawful (haram) material such as music, pictures or videos of the opposite gender, etc., therefore, should be avoided as much as possible as it is not permissible to earn money through haram means.[1]

If it can be guaranteed that there will be no involvement of haram items, it will be permissible Insha Allah.

Only Allah knows best
