Question:

If someone is having trouble getting the aqiqah done on the 7th, 14th, etc… days because it’s a Friday and they face difficulties having it done on a Friday, will they achieve the same blessing having it done on any other day of the week?

Answer:

In The Name Of Allah, The Most-Merciful, The Most Kind

It is sunnah to perform aqiqah on the seventh day, hence that would be most rewarding; however, if one was unable to perform the aqiqah on the seventh day, then it is preferable to do it on the 14th or 21st day, and if even this is impossible, then follow the sequence of performing it on the following seventh day, and so on and so forth. Nevertheless, if you are unable to perform it on a Friday, then there is no sin upon you if you choose to perform it on another day. The aqiqah will still be considered valid, even though it is not the same, in terms of reward and desirability, as performing it on the 7th, 14th, or 21st day. Just because you cannot carry out the aqiqah on a Friday, that should not prevent you from performing it on another day, because you will still attain the reward for it.[1]
