Question:
Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah
During Ramadan, I was kissing my wife’s body using my mouth/tongue and I tasted saltiness from her body. I did not rinse my mouth out until maybe 5 or 10 minutes later. Is my fast valid?
Answer:
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Assalamualaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaatuh
In the state of fasting, it is generally disliked to taste anything.[1]However kissing the wife is permitted as long as there is no fear of ejaculation.[2]
The taste/wetness that is found after is excused as it is hard (close to impossible) to stay away from like the wetness of water when a person gargles.[3]If a person was to ejaculate then his fast would be nullified and he would have to make up the fast with qadha.
There is also a hadith of the Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) that he used to kiss his wife in the state of fasting.
