Assalamalaikum Mufti sah’b, Insha Allah this year myself and my wife are going for Haj Pilgrimage. As Haqeeqah was not done for my wife by her parents so far, kindly let me know whether it is compulsory for her to do haqeeqah, (slaughtering one sheep) before proceeding for Haj pilgrimage. Also it will be helpful for us if you provide more information regarding Haj.

(1) Aqiqah is not necessary.
(2) Get the book “Muallim al-Hujjaj or Masael Hajj and Umrah” and read them thoroughly with full concentration. If you feel any difficulty anywhere in understanding, consult the people of knowledge and keep these books with you during hajj.
