I have a milk business , and I Used to mix WATER in my milk until my milk posses 45% fat , But I used to tell to my customer about this mixing of water , and when milk is low fat naturally , then I mix water in milk accordingly , so please tell me that is it legal to mix water or NOT in Islam
Answer:
(Fatwa: 1595/1237/D=1431)
(1) If the customer is aware of the adulteration, there is no harm in selling water mixed milk.
(2) If one does not intend to cheat, there is no harm to mix water in the milk. However, it is better to sell it without mixing water.
