I am from india,please dont put my name or email address on the website.I have a couple of questions. question 1– In india weddings have a lot of rituals like haldi, mehndi etc which have singing and other activities whch i dont feel is necessary.are these rituals allowed. Question 2- i had some skin problem on my leg which has left bad marks on my legs and they are healing, so i wear pants below my ankle because if i dont then people keep looking at my feet and this causes embaressment. and i will wear pants above ankle as soon as i get well.

Singing and playing musical instrument is haram, while haldi and mehndi is halal within Shariah limits. There are several other customs which have different rulings. You may refer to Bahishti Zewar, there is nice and substantiated description of the matter. ?Islami Shadi? is also another good book on the topic. These books are very much useful.
For this reason, it is not allowed to let the pyjama or pant below the ankle, since it does not attract the attention of people generally and second if it is so and causes embarrassment then you can wear socks.
