Is it true that unmarried women cannot apply khidab or mehndi/oil without their husband’s consent?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Assalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakatuhu! Respected pious scholar,I read from online book “masai’l of hairs” Masa’lah: An unmarried woman is not allowed to use khidhab or make-up. However, even without her husbands consent, a married woman may apply make-up or khidhab.#####I am unmarried that I cannot appply khidab of mehndi and oil,is it so??

Answer

(Fatwa: 59/45/L=1432)

An unmarried woman as well may apply dye.
روى الحسن عن أبى حنيفة رحمة الله أنه قال : لا بأس بالخضاب للجارية الصغيرة والكبيرة (تاتارخانية : 18/215)
In the same way, she can do makeup observing the shariah limits. You can use the dye of henna or oil when you need.
