A person who was in etikaf this Ramadan, after washing his hands wiped them with a towel before eating. We told him that wiping of hands before eating after washing is against sunnah. Now he is insisting to provide him with a hadith to authenticate it. He also uses spoon and fork for eating.

We could not find any Hadith speaking about not to wipe hands after washing it before eating. It is said to be the method of Sufis, it is not correct to consider it sunnah.
