Is it halal or haram to use the health insurance benefit provided by my employer?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I am an employee of a private company. The company by default gives all its employees Medicalim Policy to me, my wife and 2 children. The company pays money to Health Insurance companies and nothing is deducted from my salary for this. I am eligible to either claim the amount of hospitalisation from the Insurance company or go for cashless hospitalisation on quoting my Employee ID and Company Name and the Insurance Company name to the hospital. My wife is suffering from gall bladder stone and need to have surgery at any hospital. Request you to know from you that if it is halal or haram to avail such benefit provided by the company through Health Insurance Company. Doing so, I will get the surgery done without giving any money to hospital.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

If your company itself pays for the mediclaim policy and does not deduct any amount from your salary, then you can avail that policy and can get free treatment for yourself and your family.
