Do we gargle or just rinse during ghusl?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Is gargling fardh during ghusl or we have to only rinse the mouth? If we only have to rinse the mouth should we ensure that the water reaches the end of the throat or is it sufficient to wash the mouth lightly without making water reach till the end of throat?

If it is an obligatory ghusl then it is necessary to rinse the mouth fully. As per the preferred saying, gargling is not necessary but it is sunnah if one is not in the state of fasting:
قوله غسل الفم والأنف اى بدون مبالغه فيها فإنها سنة فيه (اى فى الغسل على المعتمد (طحطاوى على المراقى).
